Yes, it’s November 2nd. Most writers know what that means. National Novel Writers Month when we writers take the plunge into writing 50,000 words of a brand spanking new novel. From scratch.
I’ve been doing NaNo for 6 years now and, while I haven’t finished every year I have a pretty good track record. I even have 2 published novels as a result of their NaNo beginnings. And many more that need the polish.
I kind of waited til the last minute to decide what I was going to work on. I go back and forth all the time, but it came down to doing complete rewrites on projects that have been sitting in folders for years now. I have two that I particularly like but just need to be redone with a new breath of life. I decided on working on Dreamer’s Sea. It’s a story I did a few years ago that I adore but was just way too vanilla. So, using the major characters I had in it before, I’m reviving it with some fresh aspects and will start all over again with it. I’m happy that I at least know my hero and heroine very well so I don’t have to guess to much. And I’ll have fun with the new ghosts I’m adding and a curse.
So, I’m happy about my decision. I hope I made the right one.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Do Overs still doesn’t have a release date, but that should change at any time. Everything is all done with it so I’m hoping it’ll be out this month.
Just signed the contract for Finally Home so soon I’ll be getting an editor assigned and will be plunging into the editing process. Yippee. No, really, I’m looking forward to getting into it. I love the story and I look forward to having another chance to give it life.
Winter came early to New Hampshire. We got about 2′ of snow on Saturday. A bit of a shock to the system and not very pleasant. Who wants to shovel that much snow before Halloween?? Not this girl!
Now I must get back to my NaNo.
