Six Sentence Sunday-May 13th

Yay! It’s Sunday! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s out there! I hope you’re getting breakfast in bed!

Today I’m continuing on with Where One Road Leads, my Samhain Publishing release.

Krista and Matt have had a confrontation for the first time in years where she’s unmoved by his hostility.

Krista drew in another long breath off the cigarette. She was going to have to find another way to calm her nerves or else she’d be smoking a pack a day.

She remained there in the neat kitchen for a long time after she’d finished the cigarette, examining the room and trying to reclaim the warmth she’d once felt there. Not an easy thing to do, now that her mother was gone and her sister living down in Boston. Even after her father had passed away when she was thirteen, the Faye household had been a typical home sweet home. Even though this house was full of things, Krista realized wearily that she had brought her emptiness with her.

    1. Thanks! I loved writing this character. I know a lot of people are going to frown on the fact she smokes, but it’s a coping mechanism for her, not just a bad habit.
