November marches on. I’m still holding on to NaNoWriMo though I’ve had several distractions that have kept me from my writing. But I’m determined to finish!
Today I’m jumping ahead a little. Becca is riding a horse for a friend in a local horse show and Josh finds he’s interested in her, against his will. Hard to keep memories at bay, though.
Josh closed his eyes as a last ditch effort not to get dragged into this unwanted attraction to her. This was the last thing he needed.
“Josh, oh my God! I can’t believe I won!”
Josh grimaced. This voice belonged to a sixteen-year-old Becca after winning her first over fences class on a Skyview horse. He squeezed his eyes tighter, but he couldn’t shake the memory.
Yes, it’s a class for hunters. The horses are judged on how they take the jumps etc, as opposed to jumpers who basically are just trying to get around the course with no faults.
Good six, Ceri. You do love stories with horses. Good luck with NaNo.
That I do, Callie. Not enough horse stories out there, in my opinion. Thanks for stopping in. 🙂
Not sure if he’s going to succeed at keeping those feelings at bay. Nice six! 🙂
It’ll be tricky! Thanks for coming by, Jessica!
Memories are so hard to shake. Especially when living proof returns home.
Maybe you explain this earlier, but what is an over fences class? Jumping?
I like the part about the memories.

Nice six. I like how he’s fighting against the memories, but the memories are winning. 🙂
Love his internal struggle. Nice six, Ceri
Those memories will get you every time! I could really feel his emotion – powerful six!
I LIKE the horse allusions–but then I probably have way too many horses for science fiction.
Nice six. What a sweet memory.
