It’s the 23rd and obviously we all survived the end of the world. No, I didn’t have any doubts. Well, maybe just a little itty bitty doubt. No. Not really. So, that means I have to finish my Christmas shopping. My kids gave up believing in Santa long ago so at least I don’t have to sneak out to do my shopping.
In the meantime I’m working on edits for a story I hope to have published on Amazon by the end of January. At least, that’s my deadline. Let’s see if I can manage. Fingers are crossed.
Today I’m continuing from where I left off, with my thus far untitled romance set in Texas. Last week our heroine arrived somewhere she never wanted to return to. She’s none too pleased to be back.
“I got here as soon as I could.” Lucy strode forward, forcing herself to look confident. There was no way in hell she’d let this bastard think she was the same cowering girl who escaped this ranch nine years ago. “Not like I could drop everything and come running.”
“Well, your aunt Phyl has been on my back to get her help. Hell I need help.”

I hope him admitting he needs her help is a sign that he’s changed. Nice six! 🙂
What kind of help?
Ooo! I like her attitude. Nobody messes with her…unless she wants them to. LOL. Great six. 🙂
Ooh. Escaped his ranch nine years ago. That’s the hook for me.
Curious why she ran. Curious why he needs her help now. So many questions!
I like her attitude and wow, this excerpt is intriguing, raises so many questions. Can’t wait to read more!
I think its promising that he’s been open about needing help too. Great six. Hope you had a Happy Christmas.
