Today is the big release day of Summer On Main Street, a fabulous box set of six sizzling romances all set in small towns! In honor of this, I’m pleased to have one of the authors in the set, USA Today Bestselling author, Liz Kelly with me today! Liz is the author of Good Cop. Heroes of Henderson Book 1.
Glad to have you here, Liz! Tell us a little about yourself.
I asked my husband out on our first date, have walked on fire, and unintentionally given birth without drugs twice. But the bravest thing I’ve ever done is write explicit love scenes knowing full well my father and ex-boyfriends are going to be reading them. Yikes. The best advice I’ve been given is to write like everyone you know is dead. It helps!
As a psychology major, I graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina unaware that all the romantic stories I’d been making up since elementary school could actually be written down and shared. Who knew being a hopeless romantic could turn into a fun-filled career? My Heroes of Henderson series gives homage to both my hometown, Baltimore, Maryland, and my best friend’s hometown, Henderson, NC. (Besides, who can resist a Southern Gentleman?)
What is your favorite genre to write? How many genres do you write? I only write contemporary romance. It’s what I do.
What inspired your latest story? My critique partner said she wanted to see two of my secondary characters in a three-way. Really!
What is your typical writing day like? Typically I sit in the shade outside by the pool (in Naples, Florida – yes, I am spoiled,) and write from 11AM to 4PM give or take.
What do you like to do besides write? Get a massage, meet a girlfriend for lunch, sing in the car, go to the movies. (I used to sew, quilt, scrapbook, and collect dolls, (because I didn’t have a daughter and needed a defense against all that testosterone) but now all my creative efforts go into writing.
